This only affects Natwest Customers and we do not know why. We have no knowledge of this company and no connection to them. We have asked our merchant account provider, Stripe, and they provided the following explanation.
"Ultimately, each bank has the final say on what they show as the statement descriptor to the cardholders. In this case, it looks like the bank is using some sort of internal logic to determine the statement descriptor they show to the customer even though we passed on "SKIN SHOP" to them.
Our recommendation is for you to have the cardholder discuss this directly with their bank and have the bank send them documentation confirming the details they are receiving from Stripe."
