HYDROSIL Eye Concealer

1. What shade is Hydrosil Dry Eye Concealer, and will it suit my skin tone?
It comes in one shade, a natural fair-to-medium tone, so it suits light to medium skin best. The light-reflecting minerals help it blend in, and because the coverage is buildable, you can sheer it out or build it up to match. It is not currently available in darker shades.
2. How much coverage does it give?
It gives light-to-medium, buildable coverage that still looks like skin. Start with a little and build it up where you want more, over redness or dark shadows. It is made to look natural and comfortable rather than full and heavy, which is what suits the delicate skin around the eyes.
3. Will it sting or irritate my sensitive eyes?
It is made for sensitive, reactive skin around the eyes, dermatologically tested for sensitive skin, with no added perfume. Many customers tell us it is the first concealer that does not sting or dry out their eyes. As with any product on sensitive skin, patch test before first use, and stop using it if it stings or feels uncomfortable.
4. Can I use Hydrosil Dry Eye Concealer on eczema-prone or dermatitis-prone skin around the eyes?
Many customers use it on dry, red-looking, eczema-prone or dermatitis-prone skin on the eyelids and under the eyes. It is a concealer that covers and hydrates the skin, not a medical treatment for eczema or dermatitis. Patch test before first use, and if symptoms are severe or persistent, see your GP.
5. Can I use it if I have rosacea or red, sensitive skin?
Yes, many people with rosacea-prone or red-looking skin use it to cover and even out the eye area. It conceals redness while staying gentle and hydrating. It is a cosmetic concealer rather than a treatment for rosacea, so patch test first and see your GP or pharmacist about managing the condition itself.
6. Can I use it with Hydrosil Dry Eye Gel, and in what order?
Yes, they are made to work together. Apply Hydrosil Dry Eye Gel first to calm and hydrate the skin, let it sink in, then apply the concealer over the top to cover and brighten. You can also wear the concealer on its own. The two are available together as the Hydrosil Dry Eye Care Duo Pack.
7. Can I use it as a primer or under eye make-up?
Yes. It works as a base under make-up and eyeshadow, helping colour go on more smoothly while keeping the skin hydrated. Apply it first, let it settle for a moment, then apply your make-up over the top.
8. Will it sit in fine lines or look cakey on dry skin?
It is made to avoid that. The formula is hydrating, so on dry or mature skin it tends to sit smoothly and look like skin rather than caking or settling into fine lines. Applying a little and building it up over the Dry Eye Gel, if you like, gives the most natural result.
9. Is Hydrosil Dry Eye Concealer vegan and cruelty-free?
It is vegetarian and not tested on animals. It is not vegan because it contains beeswax (Cera Alba). It is also free from parabens, SLS and MI, with no added perfume.
10. Does it contain steroids?
No. Like the rest of the Hydrosil range, it is steroid-free. The skin-calming comes from the plant-based ingredient Cardiospermum, so it suits everyday, ongoing use on sensitive skin.
