1. What is PSOregon Maintenance Cream for?
It is a lightweight, non-greasy daily moisturiser for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone skin. It helps soften dry, rough patches, improves the appearance of visible redness and dry flakes, and keeps skin moisturised and comfortable. It is lightweight enough for everyday use on the face as well as larger areas of the body.
2. What is the difference between the Maintenance Cream and the Intensive Serum?
They have complementary roles within your skincare routine. The Maintenance Cream is your everyday moisturiser for larger areas of dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone skin, while the Intensive Serum provides more targeted care for smaller areas that need extra attention. Many customers apply the serum to targeted areas and the cream more widely across the surrounding skin. Together they form the PSOregon Skin Care Pack.
3. Is it greasy, and will it mark my clothes?
No. The cream is formulated to be non-greasy and absorbs quickly, leaving no sticky or shiny residue, so it does not tend to mark clothing. This is one of the things customers mention most often, and it is why many use it as an everyday face and body moisturiser.
4. Can I use it on my face?
Yes. The cream is light enough for daily use on the face as well as the body. Avoid the immediate eye area, and as with any product on sensitive facial skin, patch test first and stop if any irritation occurs.
5. Will it help with psoriasis?
PSOregon Maintenance Cream is a cosmetic moisturiser rather than a medicine, so it is not intended to treat or cure psoriasis. It is designed to help moisturise dry skin, soften dry flakes and improve the appearance of visible redness, leaving skin feeling comfortable as part of your everyday skincare routine. If your skin is severe, painful, broken or not improving, we recommend seeking advice from your GP or dermatologist.
6. How often should I use it?
Apply twice daily, morning and evening, to clean, dry skin as part of your daily skincare routine. Regular use helps maintain skin hydration, softness and comfort. You can reapply whenever your skin feels particularly dry.
7. Is it suitable for eczema or other dry, scaly skin?
Many customers choose it as a daily moisturiser for dry, flaky or sensitive skin. It has been developed for sensitive, easily irritated skin and is specifically formulated for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone skin. If your main concern is dry, sensitive and eczema-prone skin, the Hydrosil range may be a better choice. If you are unsure which range is most suitable, we recommend speaking with your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist.
8. Does it contain steroids, coal tar or added perfume?
No. PSOregon Maintenance Cream is free from steroids, coal tar, mineral oils, SLS, methylisothiazolinone (MI), parabens and added fragrance. It is 95% naturally derived and has only a mild, naturally derived scent.
9. Is it vegan and cruelty-free, and where is it made?
Yes. PSOregon Maintenance Cream is PETA Approved Vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologically tested and proudly made in Britain.
10. Can children use it?
The cream is formulated with gentle, naturally derived ingredients and may be suitable for older children under appropriate adult supervision. Because children's skin is more delicate, we recommend seeking advice from your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist before use, and always carrying out a patch test first. It is not intended for babies or infants.
11. Can I use it with the rest of the PSOregon range?
Yes. The Maintenance Cream and Intensive Serum are designed to care for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone skin on the face and body, while the PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo and Conditioner complete the routine by caring for the scalp and hair. If you have both skin and scalp concerns, the PSOregon Total Care Pack brings all four products together in one complete daily routine while offering a saving compared with purchasing them separately.
12. PSOregon or Hydrosil: which one do I need?
The two ranges are designed for different skincare needs. PSOregon is formulated for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone skin, while Hydrosil is designed for dry, sensitive and eczema-prone skin. If you are unsure which range is right for you, we recommend speaking with your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist.
13. Why does PSOregon use Oregon Grape Root?
Oregon Grape Root (Berberis Aquifolium) is the signature botanical ingredient used throughout the PSOregon range. It has been investigated in multiple published dermatological studies for its potential role in supporting skin prone to excessive scaling, making it one of the most extensively researched botanical ingredients used in skincare for psoriasis-prone skin. While PSOregon Maintenance Cream is a cosmetic product rather than a medicine, Oregon Grape Root was selected because of this long history of scientific interest, alongside moisturising and skin-conditioning ingredients that help keep skin soft, comfortable and hydrated.
