1. What is PSOregon Anti-Plaque Conditioner? PSOregon Anti-Plaque Conditioner is a flake-softening, moisturising conditioner for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone scalps. Built around Oregon Grape Root (Berberis Aquifolium) with honey, olive oil and a conditioning complex including wheat amino acids and wheat germ oil, it helps soften dry flakes, moisturise the scalp and leaves hair soft, smooth and manageable. It is low-odour, 98% naturally derived, vegetarian and made in Britain.
2. Do I use it with the shampoo, or on its own? It is designed to be used after PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo. The shampoo gently cleanses the scalp and helps lift away visible dry flakes, while the conditioner helps moisturise the scalp, soften dry flakes and leave hair soft, smooth and manageable. You can use it on its own as a moisturising conditioner, but the two products are designed to complement each other and are also available together as the PSOregon Hair Care Pack.
3. Is it vegan? No. PSOregon Anti-Plaque Conditioner contains honey, so it is vegetarian rather than vegan. It is cruelty-free. If you are looking for a vegan option, PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo is vegan and certified cruelty-free by PETA.
4. Does it contain wheat? Yes. It contains wheat amino acids and wheat germ oil. If you have a known wheat allergy or sensitivity, we recommend seeking medical advice before use. As with all our products for sensitive scalps, patch test before first use.
5. Does it have a smell? The conditioner is low-odour. Used after PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo, it also helps soften the shampoo's naturally aromatic, smoky scent, which is one of the reasons the two products complement each other so well.
6. Is it suitable for scalp psoriasis? It is formulated for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone scalps, helping to moisturise the scalp and soften dry flakes as the second step after the shampoo. It is a cosmetic scalp-care product rather than a medicine, so we cannot guarantee results, and every scalp responds differently. If you have been diagnosed with psoriasis or another scalp condition, we recommend following the advice of your GP or dermatologist.
7. My hair is long or thick and the bottle runs out quickly. What do you suggest? For very long or thick hair, concentrate the conditioner on the scalp and the areas that need the most care, then use your usual conditioner through the lengths if preferred. This helps care for the scalp while making each bottle last longer.
8. The conditioner feels quite rich. Is that normal? Yes. It is a rich, moisturising conditioner designed to help soften dry flakes while conditioning both the scalp and the hair. A little goes a long way, so use a small amount, concentrate it on the scalp and the areas that need the most care, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
9. How long does it take to see a difference? Everyone's scalp is different, so experiences vary from person to person. Used regularly alongside PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo, many users say their scalp feels more comfortable and moisturised, while their hair feels softer and easier to manage. Because PSOregon Anti-Plaque Conditioner is a cosmetic product rather than a medicine, we cannot guarantee individual results.
10. Can I use it every day, long term? Yes. It is gentle enough for daily use and is designed to become part of your long-term scalp care routine.
11. PSOregon or Hydrosil: which conditioner do I need? PSOregon Anti-Plaque Conditioner is designed for dry, flaky and psoriasis-prone scalps and is the ideal partner to PSOregon Anti-Plaque Shampoo. If your scalp is mainly dry, sensitive and eczema-prone, the Hydrosil range may be more suitable. If you are unsure which range is right for you, we recommend speaking with your GP, pharmacist or dermatologist.
12. Is it cruelty-free, and where is it made? Yes, it is cruelty-free, and it is made in Britain. It is vegetarian, dermatologically tested and 98% naturally derived. As with all products for sensitive scalps, patch test before first use and stop if any irritation occurs.
