HYDROSIL Hair Duo

1. What's included in the Hydrosil Scalp Shield Duo Pack? Two products: Hydrosil Scalp Shield Shampoo (200ml) and Hydrosil Scalp Shield Tonic (100ml). The shampoo cleanses and soothes a dry, itchy scalp without stripping, and the leave-in tonic hydrates the scalp and helps reduce flaking between washes. Together they make a simple two-step routine for dry, itchy, flaky and sensitive scalps.
2. Why buy the Duo Pack instead of the two products separately? The pack brings both products together for less than buying them on their own, and they are made to work as a pair: the shampoo cleanses and calms the scalp in the shower, and the tonic carries that relief through between washes. You can still buy either one on its own if you prefer.
3. In what order do I use the shampoo and tonic? Wash first with Hydrosil Scalp Shield Shampoo, massaging it into wet hair and scalp, then rinse. Towel the hair so it is damp but not dripping, then spray Hydrosil Scalp Shield Tonic onto the scalp, massage it in and leave it in before drying and styling as normal. On days you do not wash your hair, spray the tonic onto the scalp on its own whenever it feels dry or itchy.
4. Can I use the shampoo without the tonic, or the tonic on its own? Yes. The shampoo can be used as your everyday wash on its own, and the tonic can be sprayed onto the scalp on its own, after washing or between washes. Many people use both together as a routine, the shampoo at each wash and the tonic to keep the scalp comfortable in between.
5. Is the Duo Pack suitable for scalp eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis or dermatitis? Both products are made for dry, itchy and sensitive scalps, including scalps prone to eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis and contact dermatitis, and are gentle enough for everyday use. They are scalp-care products rather than medical treatments, so we cannot guarantee results, but many customers with these conditions use them as their regular routine. Patch test first, and if your scalp condition is severe or persistent, check with your doctor.
6. How is a dry, itchy, flaky scalp different from dandruff? Ordinary dandruff is usually linked to a yeast on the scalp and tends to respond to anti-fungal dandruff shampoos. A dry, itchy, flaking scalp is driven by dryness and irritation instead, often linked to eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis or a reaction to chemicals and fragrances in hair products, so anti-fungal shampoos often do not help and can make it feel worse. Scalp Shield is made for this dry, sensitive kind of scalp rather than fungal dandruff.
7. Will it help with scalp psoriasis? Scalp Shield is made for dry, eczema-prone and sensitive scalps. If your scalp has raised, red or silvery scaly patches typical of psoriasis, PSOregon Anti-plaque Shampoo is formulated specifically for psoriasis-prone scalps and is likely the better choice.
8. Do these products contain steroids? No. No Hydrosil product contains steroids. Both the shampoo and the tonic rely on naturally derived, irritation-aware ingredients, so they are suitable for gentle, everyday, long-term use.
9. Why do the products have an earthy or tea tree smell? Because they contain no synthetic perfume. The natural, slightly herbal scent comes from the tea tree and the other ingredients rather than added fragrance, which is one of the reasons they suit fragrance-sensitive scalps. Most people find the smell is light and settles once the hair is dry.
10. How long until I notice a difference? This varies from person to person, as every scalp is different, and neither product is a medication, so they work in step with your skin. Many people notice less itching first, with flaking and dryness easing as the scalp settles over a few weeks of regular use. Use both consistently and give it a little time.
11. Is the Duo Pack vegan and cruelty-free, and where is it made? Yes to both. Both the shampoo and the tonic are vegan and animal test-free by PETA, and they are made in Britain.
